George Segal is great as Jay Jay, a hairdresser addicted to heroin running around Manhattan. He has a junkie wife, a girlfriend, his best junkie pal Billy, dealers, dirty cops. A brutally honest odyssey of an addict consumed by chaos in an unforgiving concrete jungle. At one time a junkie says " I love this life! Gives me a purpose in life! Hustling for the next score. How many people can say that?" Man, those lines jolted me. The cast is great and a boyish Robert DeNiro as a dirty cop makes an appearance.
