The film which you watch with your ears
When someone asks me what's the most demented film you've ever seen....this art is my answer.
Fury Road entered my life & ruined action movies for me like forever. Since it's release I might have seen Fury Road atleast 70 times including the Black & Chrome version and the silent version. The only film imo that I couldn't even film a single second of it even if I had all the cast and crew and the budget.
I had not see this insane eruption of madness on display till then and till now in Cinema or any other media.
Fury Road might be my 2nd favourite edited film ever after The Social Network, as Margaret Sixel (George Miller's wife) had to edit 480 hours of footage which took than 3 months to watch trimmed this into the absolute best 120 hours of chaos. The frame rate for the film also had to be adjusted by her because in our normal 24fps the action would have been impossible to follow, thus they slowed it down & if it was too easy to follow then they would speed it up.
John Seale came out of retirement to gorgeously lens this film, the ear piercing insane soundtrack by Junkie XL (brothers in arms is one of my favourite score ever), Colin Gibson's out of the world set design & probably my favourite set, some of the best costume design, hairstyling & make-up for a film, the best part of the film i.e. the sound design - both editing & mixing, the visual story telling, the acting by everyone involved especially Charlize Theron as Furiousa is one of the best character put to screen, and ofcourse the madman who brought this all together George Miller 🙌 & he was 70 when he filmed this😵.
Often touted as one of the Greatest film ever made & Top 10 films of 2010s...Here are some milestones in terms of critical acclaims:-
1: Metacritics highest rated film of 2015
2: BBCs critics poll of 2016 & New York Times titled it as 19th best film of 21st century.
3: Empire voted it as the best film of the 21st century.
4: Ranked first on The A.V. Club critics' list of "100 best movies of the 2010s, ranked third on Variety's "The Best Films of the Decade, and ranked ninth on The Hollywood Reporter's The 10 Best Films of the Decade.
5: It also appeared (unranked) on The New York Times' "The 10 Most Influential Films of the Decade (and 20 Other Favorites), Wired's "The 24 Absolute Best Movies of the 2010s" and the Los Angeles Times' "best movies of the decade: Kenneth Turan and Justin Chang's essential picks".
6: In Metacritic's tally of lists of the best films of the decade, it appeared on and topped more lists than any other film, with 20 critics placing it at number one.
If you have not watched Fury Road yet then my only request will be to watch it by putting on your speakers on full volume doesn't matter if your ear starts to bleed...I'll pay the hospital bill😏
