took me a little bit to think of what to say for one of my most anticipated movies of the year. i love all the stylistic and thematic elements of this film - the 80s satanic panic, the rise of exploitation genres, and religious fear mongering all connect this trilogy seamlessly in a way that’s close to perfect. that being said there were a few things that fell a bit short for me such as the reveal and the shootout. definitely still one of my favorite releases of the year - i just had such extremely high expectations that led to the need to process what i just saw and a want to come back with more solidified opinions after a rewatch
