A high octane blast of an action movie, with its highlight being its absolutely gorgeous visuals. The production design and cinematography is masterful, far above the average action flick. This film acts much more like a soft reboot than a sequel, as the timeline of things doesn’t make much of any sense. However, this is a massive step up from the original, which as one of the few that have actually seen it, I can confirm it’s not all that. Hardy brings new life into the character, and he’s so good at playing characters with scary face masks. The story can be pretty weak, as it kind of wanders around and seems lost at points, or not even present at all. The draw of this film however is not the story, it is the adrenaline of the experience. The best example of where style over substance isn’t a terrible thing.
