This is like Her x Jurassic Park x HAL 9000
This was such an interesting, fascinating yet terrifying film? I absolutely love the concept of machines having or gaining sentience, which is why I love Ava in this movie and loved HAL in Space Odyssey. But when I watch and compare these 2 movies, they’re so similar yet different. HAL does what he does out of fear, while Ava does it out of necessity almost. Truly interesting to think about because technology is moving in a similar direction in our world, so who knows, maybe one day we’ll have Ava’s walking among us and we don’t even know. Maybe we already do…
Anyway I didn’t really care about the human characters. I guess a bit about Caleb near the end, but meh. Oscar Isaac killed it as Nathan though, great performance there. Otherwise it’s a good watch
