Finally got to watch this and I absolutely loved it. Ti West really knocked it out of the fucking park with this whole series. If he doesn’t put out anything better than this for the rest of his career then that is ok with me because I adore all three movies so much!
The 80’s vibes are terrific, the giallo vibes are terrific, the 80’s movie vibes (those opening credits!) are terrific, and I love that it’s very authentically 80’s instead of the neon fever dream we see portrayed so often. The real 80’s was high fashion and high sleaze in equal parts with a sprinkling of cocaine everywhere. We have Halsey sporting an all white shoulder padded pantsuit romper like it just doesn’t get more 80’s than that and let’s get her on some more horror movies please!
Is there anything Mia Goth can’t do? God she embodies Maxine so completely and wholly that it’s hard to imagine her as anyone else, but you have all her other horror work to show the absolute RANGE she has. Love love love her so much. Love this movie, Maxine forever!
