I've never been too familiar with The Muppets. I didn't watch Sesame Street on TV, nor did I watch any of the Muppets other movies. I'm not very fond of musical films either, but this one... well, this one surprised me. A lot.
The Muppets is charming, heartfelt and cheerful. This is the perfect movie to watch when you're feeling bored or sad. All the happy singing warms one's heart in a blink of an eye.
Celebrity cameos were awesome, especially Jack Black, whose surprisingly didn't end up on the end credits (given the amount of screen time he is given...), Zach Galifianakis, who plays a very funny hobo king, and Emily Blunt.
Voice acting was, obviously, one of the film's strongest points. The muppets' voices are just so weird and funny!
The Muppets is a very fun film, both for kids and adults, and not only ends up being super satisfying (I'm deducing) for long-time fans, but ends up being very successful at gaining new ones too. One of the best movies of 2011, The Muppets comes highly recommended!
