I'm actually overwhelmed at how good this is.
A perfect testament to Stan Lee's legacy for Spider-man. A visual style that is a lot more than just a gimmick, an origin story that's actually satisfying, and most of all a tightly written narrative that makes this the most important superhero movie I've seen in a long time.
I'm… honestly not sure what to say? This feels so much more personal than other superhero films, constantly reminding its viewers why these stories have to exist in the first place without ever feeling preachy. Vibrant and full of heart. So, so empowering.
Animation should always be this good. Superhero films should always be this good. If THE EMOJI MOVIE studio could produce this, no film has an excuse to be bad. The greatest disservice you could ever do to yourself is to miss this on the big screen.
