I first saw this in 2018 and it completely flew over my head how groundbreaking the art style alone is, let alone how much respect this movie pays to every previous iteration of Spider-Man. The message that anybody can wear the mask is flawlessly supported by a down-to-earth, relatable story, which itself is impressive given that the major plot points of said story include being bitten by a radioactive spider, discovering a multiverse full of Spider-People, being hunted by your uncle in a purple cat suit and fighting the Beast from The Chase on a collider. Then again, I shouldn't be surprised... when the intro features Emo Peter dancing, you already know the rest of the movie is gonna be top quality
