Nolan has done it again. Took me the first couple of switches between B/W and color to understand what he intended. Wow what a marvelous achievement in cinema! The switches and the building of this man’s convoluted personality and conundrum of a psyche with the dichotomy of his character and Intellect mesh with his own sense of honor makes this incredibly engaging. Cillian finally gets his lead role! He chews the scenery with aplomb and understanding of what made this man unique! Robert Downey jr is amazing and it’s one of those figures that lingers in the back moving its tentacles and that it’s a testament to his acting chops! Oh my goodness, what to make of Emily Blunt! Breathtaking and vibrant and powerful and even jn the moments she is subdued and in the background she has such a great way to make the camera wish to capture her moments and when she does, she makes her presence be felt in your skin aka goosebumps of pleasure! Even the supporting cast is amazing like Albert Einstein and the general played by Damon. But behind all of them, Chris Nolan has made a film that showcase a thesis about the nuclear weapons and leaves the audience with the task of leaving with an unique vision that can meld each one’s voice and mind and thoughts about the subject. Love how Nolan doesn’t try to force a narrative but rather just leaves the viewer with facts and the thoughts of his subjects. The music score and the editing and the special Fx and the technical aspects of this movie are impeccable and shows why Nolan has been deserving of all the accolades!
