The Movie Man 58’s review published on Letterboxd:
DreamWorks is not perfect. Everyone knows it at this point. They will always make a bad movie (Turbo), a mid movie (Teenage Kraken), a great movie (Megamind), and a PHENOMENAL movie (Kung Fu Panda). This thankfully fits into the latter category.
This was beautiful from beginning to end. The story is an original and touching one, the animation is literally a living painting, the music is gorgeous, the characters are unconventionally awesome, and yes I did cry. Multiple times.
I cannot think of a better way to conclude in-house productions at the studio. Whatever they release, no matter what it is, I will be looking forward to it.
