The amount of meticulous symbolism permeating every frame of this is otherworldly. Mamoru Oshii's film is a deliberately obstinate one, fighting conventionality at every step with its quiet resolution to evoke the very sensation that is absent in its cold world. It's haunting, thought-provoking art and I'll certainly be looking forward to experiencing it all again.
