"That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence."

The quote above isn't from this film but from Tarantino's epic Pulp Fiction and you know what? He's right. There is a lot to unpack and theorize about in this film but the simplicity of its story makes this quote an appropriately comforting and apt encapsulation of 3-Iron's spellbinding qualities. Kim Ki-duk's recent tragic passing is a major loss in so many ways. He leaves behind a formidable mark on the medium.
