didn’t vibe with this for the same reasons why i don’t vibe with most revenge action types… not a bug… just a feature of the genre… though when the action pops off it delivers, which is really what matters…
dev patel is also so good in this (zero surprises) both in front of and behind the camera… the film itself looks absolutely stunning… not to mention feels grounded while still managing to be quite dynamic… and any time members of the hijra community were on screen instantly boosted engagement… to the point that i wondered why they weren’t there from the jump… but that might just be a personal taste issue…
i remain ever excited to see what projects patel sinks his teeth into next and hope he gets many more opportunities to direct
