When I was younger I always thought that maybe my whole life is a dream. One day I’ll wake up in another bed and learn that everything that happened never did. I’m not really sure what sparked that thought, but it was there for a while. This film sort of expanded on what I used to believe as a child and something about that terrifies me. It’s like this is sort of another sign that that is true. 

Inception does a really good job of nicely introducing this insane philosophical idea of planting ideas in someone’s brains by going through layers of dreams in a way that doesn’t immediately turn off the audience which is something insanely difficult to do. It’s the perfect mix of explained enough and leaving room for interpretation that a lot of directors can’t even get close to. 

Also the little tidbit about Tenet that played before this made me more and more excited for a film that I didn’t really care all that much about before. I’m proud of you, Nolan.
