This movie is just one of the wildest experiences ever and the three hour just flies by like lightning. It’s also my third rewatch of this film and I gotta say it’s still one of my favourite films ever, and it’s surprisingly really accurate to the true story it’s based on which makes me very happy. The direction by Scorsese is exceptional and once again proves why he’s one of the greatest filmmakers ever, it’s probably his most entertaining and possibly most rewatchable as well. The screenplay is fast paced and the writing is just so brilliant, the pacing of this film is perfect and it absolutely flies by for a three hour film. The characters are amazing and so unlikable at the same time, but I think that’s the charm of the film and I thought they handled the true story that it was based on very well, and it’s way more accurate than I expected.
The editing and score/soundtrack are amazing as well and it’s some of if not the best editing I’ve seen ever. The performances by this absolute stacked cast are just phenomenal and everyone puts in standout performances. Leonardo DiCaprio is sensational in this film as Jordan Belfort, the energy he brings in this role is just fantastic and he really captures Belfort so beautifully, he should’ve won the Oscar for this film because it’s his best and it’ll probably remain that way for a while. Jonah Hill does an absolutely outstanding job as well and playing Donnie to absolute perfection, I think he should’ve got the Oscar over Leto because even though I liked Leto in that role. Hill absolutely kills it in this role and it’s just his best performance yet. Margot Robbie also does a great job and Matthew McConaughey absolutely steals the show for very short screentime, it’s so iconic and his presence is just felt through the entire film. Rob Reiner even kills it and he’s also a scene stealer as well, he was hilarious as the father and he just made me laugh so many times when he showed up.
Overall, The Wolf of Wall Street is film that is possibly one of the wildest and most entertaining films out there, it’s highly rewatchable and the three hour runtime is barely felt whatsoever, it also has DiCaprio’s best work yet as Jordan Belfort and I would highly recommend checking this one out if you haven’t already!
