It was true to the original with its makeup and practical effects and tasteful callbacks.
It was funny! Catherine O’Hara is a comedic icon and I aspire to be half the woman Delia Deetz is.
They used their one allotted f-bomb wonderfully.
The story was fun! I’ll admit this is where it lost its star for me, though. I wish Monica’s character had more of a…. purpose. And I feel like the storyline itself was pretty surface level BUT that’s about the only flaw I had with it. I still enjoyed the story I just think it would have been a 5/5 if the story dug a little deeper and the stakes were higher.
Overall: I had such a fun time and could marvel at the practical effects of this movie for a lifetime. Jenna fits into the Beetlejuice world perfectly and everyone came back and breathed life into their old roles like they never left.
