The stupid 90s! This movie doesn't even attempt to hold even the smallest of like tiny birthday cake candles to the book, which is so flipping rich. I feel like if someone made this movie today, it would be completely different.
Firstly, the story was made more complex, I guess for plot reasons, but Kip's stuff was left out altogether. Juliette Binoche was way too old to play the semi-crazy Hana, and it's just hard to feel bad for Ralph Fiennes ever. KST rules as always, but she's not enough to help me over my disappointment.
