StretchTalksFilm’s review published on Letterboxd:
Man for some reason I had high hopes for this movie and while it’s not as bad as everyone’s saying I still can’t help but feel a little disappointed. I wouldn’t consider myself a big fan of this series but I do enjoy the original film and it’s sequel isn’t half bad either so I was curious what this offering had to show. The protagonists are genuinely some of the most boring and insufferably dumb characters that I have ever seen in all of horror film. There were multiple times my fiancé and I looked at each other and just shook our heads when they did some dumb thing like when Ryan literally could have driven away but chose to stay. I thought they did a great job with the strangers in this movie and thought they were used extremely well. When they were just lurking and our protagonists didn’t see them behind or wherever I thought was done very well and one of my favorite parts of the film. This movies fine but I have to pose the question does this movie need to exist and the answer is no. Curious to see what the next films have to offer but can’t help but think they are unnecessary. A fine film but a little disappointed in what the final product was.
