even if I had seen it in the theater I don’t know that it could have lived up to the magic 8 y/o me experienced watching the original cast on broadway. I still had fun tho!! casting, performances, set design, costumes were all perfection. ariana is doing a spot on Kristen chenoweth impression and I’m not mad about it at all. most of the big dance numbers worked for me except defying gravity which imo they RUINED. however my main problem with this movie was the lighting. the lighting fucking sucks. I couldn’t see shit and everything was so god damn washed out. everything should have been so much more saturated and colorful and I feel like the poor lighting really took away from the production design
