Froggy Features #11
Despite the end of the second act dragging a bit, I think every aspect of this movie is justified by its own logic. I think Colette and the side characters in the restaurant had a lot potential; And with Colette specifically, she was kinda made a little worse for the purposes of Remy and Linguini clashing before the end.
However neither of these things take away what a masterpiece this movie is. I don't expect any movie to be flawless; and since this movie is essentially perfect minus these points, I'll give it a 10/10 score.
I think if you released this movie in live-action or something, it would not only be worse, but it would also still get more recognition as the masterpiece it deserves to be known as. Unfortunately, so many people write this movie off for being animated.
And, I'm just gonna come out and say it: animation is my favorite medium. I have always loved and preferred animation over live-action and will continue to do so. This film, and so many others like it would just not be as good if it wasn't for its animation. I think it's justified to bring this up for this movie, a story about accepting change and the unknown, from passionate artists who are unconventional.
I bet everything I've said here has already been said, but oh well. I wont waste any more of your time then.
