Melissa McCarthy is quickly making a name for herself as one of the funniest women of the generation, and The Boss delivers what it should. There wasn't a second in this film that I wanted it to be over. In fact, I wanted it to be longer. I was laughing almost every second of this film. It's so funny.
McCarthy plays Michelle Darnell, a rags-to-riches woman who is, in the film, apparently one of the richest women in the country. This is proven from the very first scene, where she has a flying contraption and T-Pain.
Kristen Bell plays Claire, Michelle's assistant who allows Darnell to stay with her after Michelle loses her money and is sent to jail. She has a daughter named Rachel, and she is one of the funniest characters in the film.
The plot is pretty cliched, but the writers go with it and make it into a laugh riot that will have you gripping your sides from laughing too hard.
The acting is okay, for what it is. It's not horrible, but it's not all that great. It's a little better than average, so that's good.
