After the commercial failure of Halloween 5, Michael Myers seemed to be dead once and for all. It wasn't until six years later that Michael Myers finally wreaked havoc yet again.
The final product is a mediocre, less-than-stellar slasher film that's, unfortunately, by-the-numbers and just bland. It didn't really feel like a Halloween film, per se, but Michael Myers is in it, so I guess the film isn't a total loss. The producer's cut, however, is a completely different story. I much prefer the producer's cut to the theatrical cut any day.
This film, unfortunately, marks the final film appearance of franchise star Donald Pleasance, who appeared in the last five films, sans the third installment.
There's nothing really good that I have to say about this movie. It's not really all that great, though it's decent enough to watch every year with my annual binge-watch of the franchise.
