Klassischer Film über einen obdachlosen Alkoholiker, der sich in der ersten Filmhälfte in eine Traumwelt denkt, in der er ein akzeptiertes und wertvolles Mitglied der Gesellschaft ist, dem alle Türen offen stehen. In der zweiten Hälfte verzweifelt er allerdings gemeinsam mit seinem eingebildeten Schutzengel in der tristen Wirklichkeit und findet keine andere Lösung, als sich erneut mit Hilfe von Alkohol in seine Traumwelt zu flüchten.
