I’m not tryna say anything bad, but I think Martin has one more great left in the bag. His energy, his passion, and just fervor to tell good ass stories just can’t end now.
On another note though, I was expecting this to be a completely different movie from what he’d done in the past. But I saw KOTFM when it was Goodfellas. I saw KOTFM when it was The Irishman. I saw KOTFM when it was Casino, The Wolf of Wall Street, and The Departed.
I kind of wish, pun intended, it departed from this kind of three act crime film structure. I mean it is a good ass formula, but one could only wish for a more tighter and concise vision like something more in the vein of After Hours and Taxi Driver.
I feel conflicted on Scorcese films nowadays. They feel like a testament towards his legacy and the history of America that he finds so interesting, but they are often sprawling and mentally draining.
I liked this a great deal, but I kind of got what I expected. So I ask you Martin:
One more.. just one more
