Paint Drying

Paint Drying

Francesco Bianchessi directs a 1 hour play starring Domenico Bonomi , Dmitri Simonetti and Ilaria Berti, focusing on a sea captain, that finds himself with a bit of a vampire problem.

For this pint drying log I wanted to promote my friend Giovanni Geroldi/ManfrediJohnson of letterboxd: letterboxd.com/manfredijohnson/ , who assisted this production with also letterboxd user Frank Nero/Francesco Bianchessi : letterboxd.com/frank_nero/
I have seen clips of Bianchessi's Hitler/Eva play and would like to see the full thing.
This play I have just finished watching is called Danza Macabra (which I was able to do so as I ripped the video from facebook and the subs too then ran them through a translator) .
I liked the staging and lighting in this, which my friend also helped on the latter! It gave the play a gothic sensibility of light and shadow along with discordant score.
Influence of Nosferatu is present, though the story and characters are made Bianchessi's own.
The highlight of this play is Dmitri Simonetti as the vampire creeping around the set whenever he turns up, giving off an eccentric, character actor vibe that gets a mix of spooky and fun simultaneously that I liked and even a good Catholic like me might have made a pact with him! And Bonomi played tormented pretty good too!
And I think Simonetti was at his best when he turned Berti's character.
My father and mother who I also showed this to in parts also thought similar about Simonetti and the lighting staging.
The staff and cast come out before the audience at the end and like through the whole thing, I feel proud for Geroldi and Bianchessi and the others, so here's my round of applause for you two cool commies from your dirty DemoChristian supporter in Ireland =P
