Ended up having a bit of a scare at the house the past couple of hours but we handled it calmly.
My father started having a bunch of symptoms that spooked him earlier, started experiencing sudden hyperventilating, blurry vision, muscle pain , dizziness, faintness, diarrhoea. Took over two hours to get medical staff to the door, though they were quick and tested him in 15 minutes after arriving.
we were thinking at everything from his heart, to food poisoning, an anxiety attack.
He is diabetic and in is 70s.
He had a panic attack thinking he was at the end or something and started saying things like "Let's be sure to be nice to each other in case the worst comes".
After the medics saw to him they thankfully concluded that there was nothing hugely dangerous, sometimes a nerve can go off that leads to a very quick rapid lowering of blood pressure , especially when using the bathroom which the medication he takes leads to some issues with having to do too often.
He is currently sleeping and feels relieved it wasn't something deeper and it has encouraged him to monitor his blood levels more frequently again after having forgotten to do so regularly lately.
He thanked my mother and I for sitting through it with him.
I take an anti-anxiety medication that conks me out sometimes , useful tablets also come with annoying side effects.
But we are relieved after two hours of worrying that he is okay.
I actually prayed for him. Moments of this when relatives feel unease when they are old remind us of mortality.
