Simultaneously joyous and saddening throughout, summed up by a perfectly bittersweet ending. It's not necessarily the one you want but you know it's the best outcome for everyone.
I identify closely with the naive and nostalgic longing for a world that no longer exists, or more realistically never did. It is a painful feeling of loss, yet one that also sparks hope that resonates throughout this entire movie.
At an objective glance, Sebastian and Mia aren't right for each other, but they were also the perfect catalysts for each other. Both of them dreaming of their own invented worlds fueled by nostalgia, recognizing their visions were not compatible, yet propelling one another to achieve it.
