Um amigo meu dizia que Billy Wilder era um mero ilustrador de roteiros. Esse equívoco costuma acontecer porque os roteiros de Wilder (aqui com Raymond Chandler) são geralmente magníficos. Um outro amigo dizia que era um mero aprendiz de Ernst Lubitsch. Pois não consigo imaginar melhor aprendizado que esse. Double Indemnity é um dos filmes mais emblemáticos do ciclo noir, e conta com um final primoroso, sugestão de romance masculino tão forte quanto os de filmes de Howard Hawks.
