Ryan Gosling incorporates more of his acting from Ken than I remember. Lots of repetition and fake stupidity. He’s funny and laid back, almost passive in all things.
So when he says the line “I will always love you” you believe it. It’s the most direct thing. And yet he also says it with finality not talking just about his love but that the relationship is over.
Still experiences are hard to forget, emotions hard to suppress, so yeah you’re gonna ask where it went “wrong”? Sad but there’s closure with a couple of looks.
