Get Your Goat

Alamo Drafthouse. This was a fun one on the big screen. A great mixture of religious fervor and subtle otherworldly goings on. I kept thinking back to Eyes of Fire, another American 17th century set folk horror movie that more wild and crazy. Not sure what is scarier Black Phillip or the mud hippies from Eyes of Fire. A friend raises goats and there is something vaguely sinister about them with their rectangular pupils and human looking bottom teeth. Great performances from Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, and Kate Dickie, the latter two were both in Green Knight which I recently saw. Well shot, and well crafted. I think I like Eyes of Fire more because this is more conventional arthouse folk horror where Eyes of Fire is more crazy out of control folk horror with more muddy hippie monsters.
