Being a huge Beetlejuice/Tim Burton fan, I was worried about this sequel - don’t fix what ain’t broke type of thing, as it’s just a great standalone film.
This was weird and stupid, and I had a lot of fun with it. Is it better than Beetlejuice? Absolutely not. Does it hold up enough to stand next to it? Sure.
The cast was great - Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton were SO good, stepping right back into their roles like they never left, but I wanted them to have more screen time. I guess that’s a bias I have that comes with being a huge fan of the first film.
All in all, it’s a fun watch! Keen to watch it again.
