The DVD copy I own as part of Warner Bros' Twisted Terror collection was crapping out on me so I went ahead and purchased the Scream Factory blu so I'll be excited to revisit this again in a few weeks. I really love that final line from Hutton after the dirtbag lech inspector decided to "get too close" and messed with the wrong woman this time. Those shots of perilous news station employee, Hutton, hanging perilously outside the window but having the presence of mind to pull away the glass shard to stab her attacker in the back is John Carpenter not letting the television movie format deter him of finding great suspense to wring from the dangerous situation.
Barbeau was clearly a big star in the making...or at least a beloved cult star for genre fans that appreciate her early work as a good friend strangled by the perpetrator startling her from behind.
Great example of a strong lead enduring torment from a hidden creep who gets his jollies by calling her up over and over so she is left to wonder where he is, worried about what he looks like since he uses his job as an advantage to spy and record women but not giving in to his badgering to the point she breaks.
