Every year, we see the movies that advertise 'Movie of the year!" and don't live up to that muster whatsoever. They fall flat. You give it the benefit of the doubt and go see it and it's just not what expected. That's definitely not the case with La La Land. Realistically, it very well could win the Oscar for best film this year. When I first saw the trailer, I was just in love with the concept and I was not disappointed. From a cinematic element, the camera work is amazing and the lighting blows me away. If you couple that with the brilliant use of color, it's a treat to watch. The two main actors have such a blantant chemistry.
If you liked everything that Whiplash had to offer, you'll love this film. Damien Chazelle produces some really great films. Definitely worth a watch!
