Ha! I wasn't expecting to love this film as much as I did, but wow, this was an absolute good time. It honestly should be called The Nice Guys plus Angourie Rice! Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe are super delightful here and with pitch perfect chemistry for the buddy/cop, errr.. buddy/P.I. sub-genre.
Also, KIM BASINGER IS IN THIS. Alert your loved ones accordingly. Such a wonderful cameo from her.
Anyway, this was so funny and so richly drawn. The mystery was intriguing and fun to play arm-chair detective with. Maybe a tad too long but this film is a rare breed these days: a zany, sharply-written R-rated popcorn flick with soul.
