I genuinely love Gremlins. I grew up on Gremlins 2 for some reason, back in the day if your parents had the vhs that’s the one you watched, but Gremlins is the original monsterpiece.
I’m a big fan of Chris Columbus. This is one of if not my favorite script by him. There’s so much nonsense throughout but it all works, it’s never dumb, if anything it’s remarkably clever.
The puppet work is so good here, it’s the reason the movie is as good as it is. If you made this film with cgi Gremlins it would lose 100% of its charm,
The pacing is great. We never spend too much time on anything and the film never drags
Another one of my favorite Christmas films.
