Rewatched in anticipation of Across the Spider-Verse.
You know how in The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent there's the bit about Paddington 2 making you want to be a better man? Well that's this movie for me. Into the Spider-Verse makes me want to be a better man.
Idk what it is about this movie but it just strikes me to my core. It hits those coming of age teenage beats perfectly that makes me nostalgic for my younger years. It hits those good dad beats that I now relate to as a father of 2. And it's just so inspiring on so many levels I'm literally getting choked up just thinking about it. God such a great fucking movie. And of course it's all set to brilliant and creative and innovative animation with a pitch perfect voice cast.
It's funny, it's heartfelt, it's smart. I love this movie. Spider-Man is my favorite superhero and this is my favorite Spider-Man movie. Can't wait for the sequel.
