I was not a fan of the first movie. It's documented, check if you don't believe me. The proof is at www.letterboxd.com, I swear it.
So I went into this with super low expectations. I almost didn't go see it at all because of seeing the trailer over and over again this summer every time I went to the theater.
I'm glad I did, this was way better than the first one. It was actually pretty good.
Same beats as the first one essentially, I dunno the deaths were all fun, more tension, loud as fuck, I could see all the jump scares a mile away but they were still fun, there is some kinda visually interesting stuff going on here as well as some interesting cinematography like the first movie.
I loved all the corny ass horror movie zooms.
I like that gore has been making a huge comeback in mainstream movies. All the gasps and disgust and waves of squirming in the theater really tickles.
Anyways, I recommend this one. It did not make me frown. It made me........
