Best comedy of 2024. I loved the Bill Clinton product placement.
Seriously though this was so unbelievably stupid. So overly reliant on cheap scares and imagery while completely lacking in any substance to actually be effectively scary. It constantly feels to tryhard (especially in direction, cinematography, and editing) that I was unable to take any bit of it seriously. Every scare or serious moment was either completely cringe-worthy or completely laughable. Maika Monroe had some good moments but otherwise her performance was utterly stiff and ineffective, and Nicolas Cage was way too over the top to ever work. Everything thematically comes across either underdeveloped and shallow or completely rushed when the movie overexplains itself near the end. Such an annoying movie overall
