AHHHH THIS WAS SO GOOD! It got me so scared from first to last frame. This is going to be the stuff of my nightmares now for the coming nights. Nic Cage is so great as Longlegs that I forgot it was even him. Like I just thought "oh yeah this guy is just real" and like omg every time it would cut to him it would just jolt me awake. The lack of revealing his full face for at least the first half as well just made him all the more terrifying. Like I'm not kidding you the opening scene with him I jumped every time we saw him. Maika Monroe was so amazing as well! Like she just has such great screen presence. The framing of the film as well was really interesting. Love the choice to almost go completely center framing. I've seen some dumb takes going "TikTok cropping" or whatever and while that's true for some cases especially MCU fair, it couldn't be anything different here. It's a very disarming technique to the audience. There is so much fear with how much empty space there is, and the amount of times I would just stare into an empty door. But there was great payoff as well like just for 5 seconds you can see something formed into goat horns.
