It lurks in the reeds, bubbles in the water. It hangs hither, watching from the ever-grayer, diluted dullen clouds. The creeping spastic rising up the throat, infesting the voices with something inhuman, something that sits where the trees corridor and the fires bark while I bask. Where dreams are delicate, sweet little spells. The blisters, bruises, a million hexes that tie down, suffocating and fornicating in a blissful hell on earth.
The Devil drew me into the dark mist, his face of mellow red peering from beneath the black. I followed, and I doubt I'll ever turn back.
