Second time watching this and I didn't quite enjoy it as much as I did at the cinema, still a great film though. Basically they set off on a thrilling, adrenaline-pumping pursuit across the desert, fleeing from the tribal chief Immortan Joe (portrayed by Hugh Keays-Byrne, who reprised his role from the 1979 original) and his menacing band of car-mounted freaks. George Miller, the director, creatively uses minimal CGI, preferring to captivate you with jaw-dropping, live-action stunts. He skillfully uses modern advanced camera technology to capture the ferocity and power of the vehicles, creating a visceral symphony of metal that feels both raw and exhilarating.
Charlize Theron's portrayal of Furiosa stands out as the driving force amidst the chaos in the movie. Not only is she a badass warrior, but she is also resolute in her mission to seek a safe place for the enslaved women. Tom Hardy's character, although more subdued, has a compelling presence that complements Furiosa's fiery determination. While some may be disappointed that he's not in the lead, there's still a hefty dose of macho energy and action involving powerful machines to keep the excitement and suspense high throughout the film.
