I wanted to dislike it, because anything that’s trying to paint Los Angeles as anything rosy is such an offensively blatant lie when that city is one of the most upsetting examples of blatant wealth inequality and everything is covered in a fine layer or sweat, smog, and all sticky substances known to man.
The way LA is portrayed is like be handed me a nutter butter and told it’s a 5 star creation and I’ll be paying 200 for the privilege of having it.
Now that being said - I state again, that I wanted to dislike it…and I couldn’t.
This end scene stuck with me and led to a lot of debates over how my friends and I interpreted it, and had me not wanting to let my own scared heart not just go for things.
