Definitely has its moments, but any storytelling momentum is sucked dry by a disregard for the nitty gritty legal mechanics this film deserves. I found myself scoffing at the lawyer characters’ unrealistic gaffes a few too many times. And key moments in the story are oddly left offscreen, and not in a way that adds to the drama. It only adds to the disbelief. Too much time spent trying to be Green Book or Philadelphia instead of relishing what is undoubtedly an interesting courtroom saga.
