I’ve been indulging in a few romance movies this month, particularly those exploring themes of love transcending the boundaries of life and death. Ghost is a film I'm fairly certain I've seen before—I caught the musical adaptation many years ago and think I watched the movie around that time—so I'm marking this as a rewatch, even though my memory of it is fragmented.
There’s a quiet air of grief that permeates so much of the style and tone of Ghost, anchoring its fantastical premise amidst its ambitious blend of genres. Nevertheless, it remains narratively engaging, sincere, and skillfully directed. Whoopi Goldberg's comedic performance adds levity, and the film treats its love story with enough gravity to evoke genuine emotional resonance while wearing its heart on its sleeve.
