I had high hopes going into this, and it met them. This was a very good, very fun, expansion of the original movie. You see more of the afterlife, you see some cool world building. Several familiar things make an appearance, and we get a few new things.
Tim Burton did a great job. It was great seeing the original principles back; Keaton, Ryder, and O'Hara. I really liked the inclusion of Jenna Ortega, even if it seemed a bit on the nose after Wednesday, but she's really good. My only criticism would be Monica Bellucci's character. She's interesting and fun, but I feel like her character is kind of forgotten about in the story. The movie isn't really even about her until it needs to be. It feels like she could have been the big villain, and I think she was supposed to be, but she was really more of a side character that didn't really affect the plot. She could've been taken out and it wouldn't really have changed anything.
Regardless, I liked this. I hope they come up with a Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice in the next few years.
