This might be odd to say, but Robert Eggers "The Lighthouse" felt like a callback to Universal horror films of the 50s-60s. I mean no ill will with this statement, as Universal horror films of the day are still some of the greatest pieces of horror cinema in my eyes. Everything about The Lighthouse felt like I was watching one of those classic films.
