The rising sun as Circle of Life begins is immediate goosebumps; that gorgeous montage of all the animals waking up and making their way to Pride Rock—Noah eat your heart out; always wanted to taste that fruit Rafiki breaks open for Simba's makeup; "Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance" 😭; always thought that piece of zebra flesh Scar throws to the hyenas looked yummy; between Scar and Mother Gothel, Disney are scarily good at writing manipulative parental figures...; Mufasa makes me wish for an Aragorn spin-off where he teaches his son about ruling Gondor, but I don't want to give Amazon ideas; the Hukuna Matata time-jump transition is magical, and with those tasty-looking bugs and romantic midnight oases, you can count me in Timon and Pumba; Simba's dark night of the soul is SO POWERFUL UGH like yes the king is back; thankfully Scar never invested in poison-dipped swords for the climax battle.
The Lion King is as perfect a children's film as possible, and the soundtrack is probably Disney's best.
