OG ASDF movies. Yet, this is so much better. It uses hilarious sketches to chronicle a deterioration of sanity. And, as the animation becomes more and more insane, so too does the humour. I go into every Hertzfeldt piece with the same expectations, and they’ve always been fulfilled: I want innovative animation, a perfect balance of comedy and tragedy, and a message rooted in its very core. Rejected is short filmmaking excellence. Typically strong work from Hertzfeldt.
