Yeah, yeah Into the Spider-verse has unparalleled visual storytelling, new vibrant mind melting animation, nose bleeding soundtrack and also brought the reinvention of the whole genre.
This is a pretty hardcore origin story.
It's packed with all kinds of awesome original Spider-Man, a bad-ass Aunt May and holds powerful ideas within like 'we all have powers of one kind or another', 'anyone can wear the mask', 'it's a leap of faith', bla bla bla...
Wherever I go, the wind follows. And the wind... smells like rain.
All that is great but the best choice of them all was the casting of the most amazing of the Spideys; a guy that lets matches burn down to his fingertips just to feel something, anything! The only monochromatic version of the arachnids, who likes egg creams, fights Nazis, has the style, voice and clothes of Humphrey Bogart and, - much like Bogie did - works as a private eye: Spider-Man Noir.
You gonna fight or you just bumping gums, you hard-boiled turtle slapper?
This time the 5 stars and a heart goes to my man Nic Cage for dropping the best line readings in the whole freaking movie and, of course, for being the coolest of the Parkers.
